ARGUMENT LEADS TO POT BUST IN EDGEWATER An argument between a man and woman led Edgewater police to a major marijuana bust Sunday morning, after [name redacted] invited a police officer inside his home. Once inside, officers noticed the sweet, pungent odor of green marijuana "that permeated the entire residence" after being called to the home in the 2000 block of Ames Street at about 11:15 a.m., according to a press release from the Edgewater Police Department. Police found a "grow operation," which cultivates marijuana, in the home's basement. [name redacted], 30, told officers he had a medical marijuana license, but couldn't provide it, according to the police. He faces charges of cultivation of marijuana and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. The West Metro Drug Task Force was called to confiscate the marijuana, but the amount and its street value were not available Sunday. |
